Here is a great site with some buzz words being used in many hospitals today. Of course, since we are usually just a little bit behind the curve, hospitals usually take on these things just as business is abandoning them.
Some of my favorites are : best practices, centers of excellence, close the loop, core competences, drill down, deliverables, mission critical, world class…

Food for thought:
Have you used these? Are they used effectively in your organization to improve the mission or just used to use buzz words? If everyone uses them to describe their organization do they loose meaning? How many best-in-class hospitals can there be?
